Overview

To-Shin Do Online offers a wide variety of products including virtual membership by subscription, digital services (like live, online testing and private lessons), digital goods (like e-books), event registration and tickets (for both virtual and in-person events), and physical products (like clothing and housewares).

Cancellation, refund, and return policies vary from product to product based on a number of factors including whether the product is virtual or physical, whether the product has limited quantities, who is producing and shipping the product, and the customer’s location.

If you have any questions about policies regarding a specific product, please, first, look for specific information on the product page. We do our best to clarify, for example, if a retail purchase will be fulfilled by a third-party print-on-demand service, and to provide information and estimates regarding processing times, shipping options, and return or refund policies specific to that product or producer.

General Policies by Product Category

Digital Services by Subscription (Memberships)

TSDO Memberships are automatic subscriptions that re-bill monthly or annually depending on the terms of your purchase.

To cancel a membership and all future payments, please login to the site and visit

 https://toshindo.online/my-account/subscriptions/ 

or navigate to Settings >> Orders & Payments >> Subscriptions.

No refunds are available after a payment has been completed.


Digital Services One-time Payment (Online Testing)

Online Group Kyu Rank Testing (on Zoom) is available for TSDO Members to purchase when they are ready for their next belt. Our testing product includes an initial test and two repeat tests (only if needed and at the instructor’s discretion) and an invitation to our semi-annual TSDO Graduation ceremony. 

If you are unable to make your scheduled group test, please let us know as soon as possible. If you let us know sooner than 48 hours before your testing appointment you will be able to reschedule without it counting towards your total potential allotment of 3 testing appointments. If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment or fail to show up for your appointment, it will count as one of your 3 potential testing appointments.

It is rare for an instructor to require a student to test more than twice, but it is possible that due to either failure to cancel appointments, no-shows, or significant disregard for the required knowledge, skills, or procedures that a student would need to purchase additional testing for the same rank.

A student who has been asked to re-test at a future date by an instructor will be given a minimum time requirement before they can register for another testing appointment.

No refunds are available for purchase of Digital Services such as Online Testing.


Digital Goods (E-Books, Downloadable Content)

If you have difficulty accessing purchased digital content or downloads, please contact [email protected] with your order number. We will help you access the content.

We do not provide refunds for digital goods. Please review digital item descriptions carefully before purchasing. If an error on our site causes you to not be able to access the content, but customer support is able to correct the error or provide you an alternate means of accessing the content, there will not be a refund.


Special Event Registration (Seminars, Affiliated Events)

Ticket sales and registrations for special events hosted by To-Shin Do Online, co-hosted by To-Shin Do Online, or hosted by a To-Shin Do School or Instructor who is making use of To-Shin Do Online’s payment processing and registration services will have cancellation, refund, and other policies posted on the registration page.

These policies may vary depending on the nature of the event and the needs of the primary host.

Physical Products Print-on-Demand

If you receive a defective or erroneous product, please contact TSDO at [email protected] and include a description or photos of the issue. We will contact our printer and order a replacement for you as quickly as possible.

Please inspect your order and contact support within 30 days of receiving your product.

In some instances we may require that you return the defective product to TSDO before we can process your refund. Do not attempt to return your product to our third-party printer. Please carefully follow instructions from Support regarding the procedure for your return.

We do not offer returns, refunds, or replacements for customer errors, such as ordering an incorrect size or style. Please review sizing information and product details carefully before ordering.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.


Physical Products, limited inventory fulfilled by To-Shin Do Online

Some of our physical products have limited inventory that may be fulfilled and shipped from To-Shin Do Online or an affiliated business or warehouse/fulfillment center.

If you receive a defective or erroneous product, please contact TSDO at [email protected] and include a description or photos of the issue. If we have inventory available to replace your product or able to obtain inventory within the next 30 days, then you will be sent a replacement product.

If the item is no longer available or will not be available within the next 30 days, we will issue a refund.

Please inspect your order carefully and contact support within 30 days of receiving your product if there is an issue.

In some instances we may require that you return the defective product to TSDO before we can process your refund. Do not attempt to return your product to any third party who may be listed on the return address on the box that you received. Please carefully follow instructions from Support regarding the procedure for your return.

We do not offer returns, refunds, or replacements for customer errors, such as ordering an incorrect size or style. Please review sizing information and product details carefully before ordering.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. 

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.


Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.


Late or missing refunds

If you have not received your refund 14 days after we have emailed you confirming that it has been issued, please contact us at [email protected] and we will double-check the status. It’s not uncommon for banks or credit cards to be slow to process refunds, and there may not be anything we can do to expedite the process on our end other than confirming that it’s been sent and is in the hands of your bank or other financial institution.


Sale items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded.


Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. We do not offer returns, refunds, or replacements for customer errors, such as ordering an incorrect size or style. Please review product details carefully before ordering. 


Shipping returns

In some instances we may require that you return the defective product to TSDO before we can process your refund. Do not attempt to return your product to a  third-party printer or fulfillment center unless To-Shin Do Online customer support has given you specific instructions to do so. Please carefully follow instructions from Support regarding the procedure for your return and the address for your return.

Shipping fees for defective products will be covered by TSDO via partial refund of the original purchase price to the original method of payment ONLY IF the customer follows shipping instructions and procedures provided by TSDO Support. TSDO will not cover additional shipping expenses incurred by the customer related to a failure to follow TSDO’s instructions for return shipping.
